Finally! Found a theme that I am totally happy with.  Tried so many where one or two things drove me crazy!  Better than regular shine because if I have a light wallpaper I can actually read the dialog boxes!  Thanks for making this variation!  Anyone have a good GTK to go along with it?  stock looks pretty good but im wasting time right now putting off a HTML/CSS project :)

Wonderful, wonderful theme. Download Ubuntu 13.04 for my older laptop to give it a whirl, but not without installing this theme. Thank you for posting man!

Sorry, but Dark Shine is no longer being maintained. Please download [link] instead which has a preset very similar to Dark Shine.

I actually meant that it is no longer maintained as a separate theme. It is now a part of "Elegance Colors" - [link]

Elegance Colors is a highly customizable chameleon theme and it consists of 10 presets, one of which, is "Dark Shine". You gotta try it :D

I love the theme, but I have had some problems with the new version aesthetically. Is there any chance you could downsize the panel icons in the top right to the older size, or to the size in your Elegance theme? The current ones are huge and annoy me too much to use the theme. Another, smaller annoyance is that the notification panel at the bottom doesn't seem to be dark enough. I have trouble with reading them when they are over anything remotely white. Could you not change the color/transparency to the same in the menus in the top right?

Hmm. Changing the bottom panel transparency will make it look inconsistent. For readability, there is text-shadow. Btw if you can read the text in the upper panel, then it should not be difficult to read the message tray.

I welcome any suggestion to improve the situation.

I'll take a look at the icons.

The bottom panel thing isn't a big deal. It is really the icons that put ants in my pants.
Thanks for reading the comment. I tend to be a little critical.
Can I also ask why the newer search box on the dash looks out of place? It seemed like the old one conforms to the same style more. Here's an image of them side by side.

Oh. Critics are good :) For improvements!

Ok. About the search box, I thought since the search box looks similar to buttons also, I would give the input box a style more like all input boxes are, like a white background and dark text. But I'll consider changing it :)

About the icon size, could you provide a screenshot comparing both?

And what is your font? Looks nice :)

With Ubuntu 12.04, i can't see anything on the native theme selector. I have Gnome Shell 3.2.

Can you help please ?

Sorry, but the native theme selector doesn't support third party themes. You must use another tool like Gnome tweak Tool.

Great shell theme!
I'm maintaining the archlinux package in AUR. For installing (assumed you have yaourt installed):
yaourt -S gnome-shell-theme-dark-shine

I am using a gnome 3.4 and the -shell-grid-item-size attribute does not have any effect. All the text and icons are crunched together.
